Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace amid competition from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from The Guardian, Chelsea are looking to re-sign Marc Guehi this summer. But the West London club could face competition from clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for the Crystal Palace defender.
The former Chelsea defender has done quite well since his move to Crystal Palace, and he has established himself as one of the most promising young defenders in the Premier League. Guehi will be looking to establish himself as a regular for his country now. So joining a big club could be ideal for him.
The 23-year-old certainly has the potential to play for the top clubs, and a return to his boyhood club could be an interesting option for him. Meanwhile, the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham could use defensive reinforcements as well. And they have been keen on signing him for a while now.
Although the Gunners have signed Jurrien Timber from Ajax, they could use another central defender in the coming weeks. As for Tottenham, they were quite vulnerable defensively last season and they will have to bring in a reliable partner for Cristian Romero.
Guehi is well-settled in the Premier League, and he could improve both clubs. It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been dealt a major injury blow recently with Wesley Fofana picking up an ACL injury. The Blues will have to replace him adequately, and the 23-year-old Crystal Palace defender would be a superb acquisition.
He knows the league well and has played for Chelsea before. The Englishman could make an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge next season. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to follow up on their interest with a proposal for the player. The Blues certainly have the financial resources to tempt Crystal Palace.
