Manchester United have agreed on a new contract with Marcus Rashford that would put the attacker among the highest bracket of earners at the club.
David Ornstein of The Athletic has broken the news of Marcus Rasford’s new contract with Manchester United. The attacker will enter the top bracket of earners at Old Trafford with the new five-year deal. Rashford also rejected overtures from other top clubs from England and Europe.
Marcus Rashford has ended speculation surrounding his future by agreeing on a new deal with Manchester United. The 25-year-old joined the club when he was seven years old, and is now set to stay on for five more years.
The journey towards penning the new deal was not straightforward, as Manchester United had to ward off the interest from some of the top clubs. There is no doubt domestic rivals were keen on Rashford. But the forward also had the interest from European giants.
Recently, few credible reports indicated Rashford had rejected PSG’s massive contract to tell Manchester United he was keen on staying put. The forward had a wonderful season at Old Trafford, scoring 30 goals in all competitions.

Rashford, with the new deal, will enter the bracket of top earners at the club. Some stories reported that he could earn around £375,000 per week with the new contract. David De Gea earned that much before his contract expired at the end of June, and now the attacker will likely take up that place.
Manchester United have been confident about sealing the new contract for some time but lent their focus to other matters. The renewal of Rashford will come as a double boost for fans in the last few days after Andre Onana got closer to signing for the club.
With the 25-year-old now staying put, Erik ten Hag can focus on bringing complementary attackers that could enhance the side’s performances on the pitch. The manager wants a new striker ahead of the coming weeks, with Rasmus Hojlund emerging as a top target.
They had been priced out of deals for prominent stars like Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane. Ten Hag remains intent on improving the squad with a new No.9 and will sort out his available options. As for Rashford, he could now look forward to winning things with Manchester United and further enhancing his status as a club legend.
