Inter Milan expected to table bid to sign Folarin Balogun

Serie A giants Inter Milan will likely offer £34 million to sign Arsenal prospect Folarin Balogun, with the Gunners demanding £50 million.

According to Dharmesh Sheth, as relayed by Football Daily, Folarin Balogun is the subject of interest from Inter Milan. And the Serie A giants are ready to offer £34 million to sign the 22-year-old prospect. But Arsenal will demand £50 million to part ways with the young striker in the ongoing transfer window.

Folarin Balogun was born in New York City but spent his formative years with Arsenal. One of the brightest young prospects in the North London club’s youth division, he represented England and the USA on the international stage in age-group football. But he has chosen to represent the USMNT on the senior level.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old made his first-team debut for Arsenal in October 2020. But regular game time has come at a premium, and he has continued his progress during two loan spells away from Arsenal. The best of these two stints came at Stade Reims last season, where he was brilliant.

The young attacking prospect was sensational as he scored 21 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games last term. Now back at Arsenal after the end of the loan spell, Balogun’s future is uncertain. And Inter Milan will look to secure his services in the ongoing transfer window.

The Nerazzurri initially showed interest in permanently re-signing Romelu Lukaku. But the Belgian striker’s negotiations with Juventus rubbed Inter Milan the wrong way. And the Serie A giants have cooled their interest in Lukaku, with Balogun emerging as their top target. Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Arsenal might open up to selling the young prospect.

The latest update reveals Inter Milan’s potential opening bid. And the Italian heavyweights are ready to offer £34 million to secure Balogun’s services this summer. But Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Arsenal will demand around £50 million to part ways with the USMNT international.

Meanwhile, Balogun has been coy while responding to questions about his future. But with Inter Milan likely to make him the first-choice striker alongside Lautaro Martinez, the prospect might be appealing to the 22-year-old. But it will be interesting to see if the Nerazzurri can do the trick with a bid worth £34 million.
