Wolves are keen on signing Caoimhim Kelleher this summer as they could lose Jose Sa to another Premier League side.

According to Daily Mail, Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher features on the list for Wolves ahead of the new season. The Midlands side could lose current No.1 Jose Sa, with Nottingham Forest keeping tabs on the Portuguese stopper.

Wolves will look to sign a new goalkeeper if their current No.1 Jose Sa departs in this window. The Portuguese international continues to attract interest from Nottingham Forest as they look to replace Keylor Navas between the sticks.

Jose Sa has been a good buy for the Premier League club. But he put in many inconsistent performances last season. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are keen on the Portuguese stopper as Steve Cooper looks to strengthen a problematic position ahead of the new campaign.

They are in the race to sign Dean Henderson from Manchester United and could pay around £30 million for the England international. There are a few unanswered questions regarding the former loanee, who missed the second half of last season through injury.

Navas arrived from PSG and left the club after his loan spell ended. Cooper wants a solid set of keepers in the squad next season and struggles with numbers. Jose Sa could come in as an option, but whether that is in place of Henderson remains the question.

Meanwhile, Wolves are targetting 24-year-old Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to replace Jose Sa between the sticks. The Irish international has been a productive force behind Alisson Becker in the pecking order but has only made 21 appearances under Jurgen Klopp.

After scoring the decisive penalty in the 11-10 shootout victory over Chelsea in the EFL Cup in 2022, the keeper made a name. He feels there is more to his game and could realise his full potential by playing regular football. There is no chance of the 24-year-old disrupting Alisson’s place in the current climate, which could force him to leave the club if a good offer came in.

Liverpool had decided about a sale long ago. But the report insists they will demand at least £20 million for the Irish international. It is a bit steep, but that is the asking price for Premier League-worthy goalkeepers in the current market.

Wolves could launch a concerted effort once the future of Jose Sa becomes clearer. Kelleher certainly has the potential to play for a Premier League side but lacks the consistency of playing regularly after many years at Liverpool.
