Tottenham are considering moving for Jonathan David as a replacement for Harry Kane if the England star departs.

According to L’Equipe via Sport Witness, Jonathan David has emerged on Tottenham’s list of potential replacements for Harry Kane. The 23-year-old Canadian striker is valued at €60 million by LOSC Lille and could leave the Ligue 1 giants for a big move.

Jonathan David has been a striker on the list of top English clubs for many seasons. He was heavily linked with a move last January but decided to stay with Lille. There is a feeling the Canadian could leave the Ligue 1 giants for a big club. But so far, the interest has seemed sporadic.

Tottenham have now emerged in the running for the €60 million-rated striker, as Daniel Levy could replace Harry Kane with the 23-year-old. The strikers’ market is yet to fully open up, and there could be movements once players start leaving their respective sides.

In truth, Kane could have a big role in the striker jigsaw. But Tottenham’s massive valuation has kept suitors at bay. For now, Bayern Munich seem like the only side pushing the sign the Spurs talisman after fresh talks were held between the club in the last few days.

Tottenham have already rejected a host of offers for Kane, as they remain confident of agreeing a new deal with the striker. However, they also plan for life if the striker leaves this month. The England captain remains open to joining Bayern Munich if the two clubs agree on a fee.

Tottenham are already looking at potential replacement options, with David firmly on their list. The €60 million-rated striker wants a bigger challenge in his career and could see Spurs as a good fit. However, he might also wait for clubs in the Champions League before deciding.

While Tottenham have an interest, the Canadian striker is not the only player on their shortlist. Spurs are also keeping tabs on Dusan Vlahovic’s situation. And going by reports, the Serbian international may have the upper hand over the Canadian.

Replacing Kane is no mean task, as the incoming striker will have huge shoes to fill. David, with his 26 goals last season, has demonstrated his ability to score prolifically, which should come across as a positive if Tottenham do end up chasing the striker.
