Chelsea have been linked with a move for 19-year-old French attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki in recent weeks.

A report from 90min claims that Chelsea have now opened talks to sign Rayan Cherki in the ongoing transfer window. Meanwhile, Lyon value the French wonderkid at a whopping €50 million.

The 19-year-old has been an important player for Lyon, and he could be a solid long-term investment for the Blues as well. Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea have been preparing a bid to sign the youngster.

Chelsea need to bring in creativity and goals to their midfield this summer. They have already sanctioned the departures of players like Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz. They need to add more bodies to the squad, and Cherki will certainly help create more goalscoring opportunities for them.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Newcastle recently as well. But Chelsea have emerged as a serious contender to sign him. The Blues struggled in front of goal last season and need to sharpen up in the final third. It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a deal for the 19-year-old.
