Inter Milan are all set to put forward a substantial second bid to acquire the services of 30-year-old Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Romelu Lukaku is desperate to return to Inter Milan, and the Serie A club are ready to submit a second offer to acquire the 30-year-old’s services. The Belgian international does not want to continue at Chelsea and is keen on moving back to Italy.

Lukaku’s future has been the talk of the town over the past week. With Chelsea’s pre-season starting soon, the 30-year-old is expected to be back at the club. However, he has decided against it despite a formal warning from their new manager Mauricio Pochettino during a press conference in the recent past.

The Belgian international was on loan at Inter last season, and he played an integral part in their dominant run in the UEFA Champions League and even contributed towards a few important goals in the league.

While he was not the focal point of their attack and was used as a substitute in important games, the 30-year-old still managed to prove his worth. And, Inter’s manager Simone Inzaghi is keen on having him back in their ranks.

The report covers the fact that the Belgian international only wants to join Inter Milan. He is not interested in making a move to any other club irrespective of the finances involved. While this is nothing new, there has been a new development in the story.

A phone call has taken place between Chelsea and the player’s representatives. The Blues have given the green light to official negotiations between both parties.

Inter had put forward an unofficial proposal a few days back. But it has been deemed too low by the English club who value the 30-year-old at around €45 million. Inter are all set to improve their offer and put forward a substantial second bid of €30 million upfront plus a decent amount of bonuses.

While Chelsea want €45 million, they could drop their asking price to €40 million, according to the report. However, there is still a decent gap between the valuation of both clubs, and there is room for a lot of negotiations before a deal is finalised.
