Kylian Mbappe open to Arsenal switch

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is open to the idea of joining Premier League giants Arsenal.

According to a report by the Independent, Kylian Mbappe could be on his way to Arsenal. The French superstar’s future has been the talk of the town ever since he made it clear that he won’t be penning down a new deal with the club and is looking to leave for free next season.

Mbappe is one of the best footballers in the world and his future is a big talking point. The 24-year-old French international’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs out in a year’s time. And, he won’t sign another extension and wants to leave the club next season as a free agent.

The decision has caused a lot of panic at the French club as they do not want to lose out on their star player for free. While PSG would love to extend the stay of the World Cup winner, they are now ready to sell the former AS Monaco star for €200 million.

PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi has made it pretty clear that Mbappe cannot leave for free. Either he pens down a new deal with the club or he will be sold in the ongoing transfer window. The Frenchman has been asked to make a decision within the next two weeks.

The 24-year-old was involved in 43 matches last season and he managed to contribute towards 51 goals. He found the back of the net on 41 occasions and assisted his teammates 10 times. His numbers are pretty much enough to suggest the kind of talent he is. While every club would love to have him in their ranks, only a few can afford his transfer fee and wages.

Real Madrid are one of the clubs that can afford his services and are keen on having him in their ranks. Meanwhile, it is no longer a secret that the player dreams of playing for Los Blancos. However, given the amount of tension between Madrid and PSG, there is a possibility of him moving elsewhere.

And, this is where Arsenal come in. The Gunners are his first preference if he ever decides to join the Premier League. The 24-year-old likes the project under Mikel Arteta and would love to help them win major titles again. However, he is beyond their financial capabilities and no contacts have been made as of now.
