West Ham United are accelerating their efforts to bring Harvey Barnes from relegated Leicester City, but there’s plenty of competition.

According to 90min, West Ham United are stepping up their efforts to sign Harvey Barnes. The 13-goal winger is expected to leave relegated Leicester City and has plenty of interest from Europe-playing clubs in the summer, including the Hammers, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United.

Harvey Barnes has been an exceptional performer for Leicester City over the last few years. It was unfortunate to see the Foxes suffer relegation, contrasting their glory period just a few years ago. During that time, they won the Premier League and the FA Cup, but their untimely demotion will have ramifications.

Many of their key stars will leave, and the floodgates have already opened with a few departures. Youri Tielemans joined Aston Villa on a free transfer, while James Maddison became Tottenham’s marquee summer signing.

Another star in their ranks is Barnes, who already has plenty of interest from top clubs, including Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Tottenham. West Ham are also in the mix for the 25-year-old alongside many other players in key positions.

The Hammers have advanced in their pursuit of Barnes after holding concrete talks with the Foxes over the last few weeks. They were waiting to bring in money through the sale of Declan Rice, which seems close to completion.

They are also keen on Denis Zakaria from Juventus, with talks of a loan move for the Swiss star advancing. Meanwhile, they want to accelerate the pursuit of Barnes, as the Hammers will want a swift agreement with Leicester for the transfer.

Newcastle and Aston Villa pose the biggest threat to this transfer, with both teams able to offer a better sporting project than the Hammers. Hence, it may not surprise that Barnes, who scored 13 goals last season, rejects David Moyes’s side in this window.

Right now, as per the media reports, the Hammers may have the upper hand, possibly due to their ability to offer more money than their competitors. Considering that speculative point, West Ham could push to complete the move and bring Barnes to London.

Moyes’s dithering has blown it for the Barnes signing and so the dumpster fire rages on at Westham . Every single transfer window sees Moyes and Sullivan botch potential quality signings and then panic at the end of the transfer window and buy a useless Sponge Bob Square Pants type of player who is then subsequently dumped for next to nothing the next year . Guaranteed , 100 million will be burned in that dumpster this transfer window and the excuses will fly again as Westham misfire in the league again .
