Manchester United are all set to put forward an improved offer for the services of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

According to Rudy Galetti, Manchester United are keen on having Andre Onana in their ranks and they are looking to put forward an improved bid in the coming days. The Red Devils are desperately looking for a new number one and have their eyes set on the Inter Milan shot-stopper.

The 27-year-old came through the ranks at Barcelona before joining Ajax. During his time with the Dutch club, he was considered among the best young goalkeepers in world football. But, a doping incident resulted in a suspension and his career started going downhill.

But, Onana has managed to revive his career. After his contract with the Dutch club ran out, Onana joined Inter Milan as a free agent ahead of the 2022-23 season. And, in his very first season in Italy, the former Ajax star has managed to exceed expectations.

He was one of the main reasons for Inter Milan’s sensational run in the Champions League as they ended up reaching the final. While he still has four years left on his deal at Inter, the 27-year-old could be on his way to another club.

The Italian giants are in need of funds and Onana’s departure could surely help their cause as he had arrived for free last year. Inter are ready to sell but they are looking for a fee close to £60 million.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are keen on signing the 27-year-old. The Red Devils were in serious negotiations with David de Gea over a contract renewal but they have failed to extend his stay and the Spanish shot-stopper is now a free agent.

De Gea’s departure leaves United with no choice but to push for a world-class goalkeeper. And, their priority is to acquire the former Ajax star. They had even put forward a bid of around £40 million in the recent past but Inter are looking for something close to £60 million.

As a result, the Red Devils are all set to present a bid of over £50 million. With add-ons included, the offer is close to £60 million, a figure that Inter has been demanding ever since the negotiations started. Meanwhile, United have been in contact with the player’s agents and there should be a major development in the near future.
