Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir this summer.

According to a report from Turkish outlet A Spor, Manchester United are keen on signing 25-year-old Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir before the summer transfer window closes.

Bayindir was in impressive form for Fenerbahce this past season and kept 14 clean sheets across all competitions. He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for Manchester United, who need goalkeeping reinforcement.

Spanish international David de Gea has left the club upon the expiry of his deal, and he will have to be replaced adequately. The 25-year-old Turkish international could be a quality replacement, and he could be Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper for the foreseeable future.

The Red Devils have been linked with players like Andre Onana as well. But the Cameroon goalkeeper is likely to cost a lot more than the 25-year-old. Meanwhile, apart from his goalkeeping qualities, Bayindir will add leadership qualities to the Manchester United dressing room as well.

The 25-year-old is the captain of his club and could be an important presence in the Manchester United dressing room next season. The opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world will be an attractive proposition for the goalkeeper, and he is likely to be tempted if the Red Devils come forward with a concrete proposal.

Manchester United have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent months, and it will be interesting to see who they end up signing eventually. The Red Devils might need to bring in more than just one goalkeeper this summer, especially with players like Dean Henderson being linked with an exit.

The 26-year-old has struggled for regular game time at Manchester United and will be hoping to end his Old Trafford nightmare and move on to a club where he will play regularly. Manchester United certainly have the financial resources to get a deal done.

So it remains to be seen whether they can agree on a reasonable price with Fenerbahce to sign Bayindir. The Turkish outfit will not be keen on selling their captain this summer. But they could be under pressure if the player decides to force a move.
