Real Valladolid will be happy to sell Ivan Fresneda for €10 million plus add-ons amid widespread links with Barcelona and Arsenal.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona and Arsenal are among the suitors for Ivan Fresneda. And Real Valladolid will accept a base fee of €10 million instead of insisting on triggering the release clause worth €20 million. The Catalan giants are the front-runners to land the 18-year-old.

Ivan Fresneda has become one of the most sought-after young prospects in his homeland following his breakthrough season at Real Valladolid. While the Pucelas failed to retain their La Liga status, the Spanish full-back’s stock rose considerably. And his release clause dropping from €40 million to €20 million has made him an attractive prospect.

The 18-year-old has turned out 26 times thus far for Real Valladolid, already amassing over 2,000 minutes of action. And following Real Valladolid’s relegation to the Segunda Division, Fresneda’s position at the club is uncertain. Such a situation has captured the attention of Barcelona and Arsenal.

Recent reports have pointed to Barcelona being in the pole position to sign the teenage whizkid. And Fresneda’s name has risen on the wishlist as the reigning La Liga champions look to end their long-standing right-back woes. So he can be the long-term solution to Barcelona’s problems in the position.

But a report by MARCA has claimed that Barcelona might not be ready to fork out more than €10 million to secure Fresneda’s services. Fortunately for the Blaugrana, Real Valladolid will happily accept a base fee of €10 million. But they will ask for performance-related add-ons in an agreement with a club. In addition, Barcelona will face stiff competition from Arsenal for the player.

While widespread reports have pointed to Arsenal ending interest in Fresneda, they remain in the hunt, according to Gabriel Sans. But with Jurrien Timber on the verge of arriving at the Emirates, the Gunners do not need a right-back. Nonetheless, he might still be on Arsenal’s wishlist over a summer move.

The price tag of €10 million likely fits Barcelona’s budget. And with the Blaugrana reportedly preparing a bid to secure Fresneda’s services, an agreement is on the cards. It will be interesting to see if they beat Arsenal and others to the 18-year-old’s signature.
