Tottenham propose bumper new deal to Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur have proposed a new lucrative deal to their star striker Harry Kane as they look to extend his stay at the club.

According to The Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Harry Kane at the club for as long as possible and have put forward a lucrative offer for the 29-year-old to extend his stay at the club. Spurs are ready to give him a significant wage hike as they look to keep hold of their all-time highest goal scorer.

Kane is one of the best forwards in world football at this point in time. He has been scoring goals for fun. The 29-year-old found the back of the net on 32 occasions last season. He also had five assists to his name.

The England international has scored 213 goals in the Premier League and is only second to Alan Shearer who has 260 goals to his name. Kane could break the record if he decides to stay in England for at least two more seasons.

But, with his £200,000-a-week contract running out in a year’s time, there is no certainty regarding his future. There are quite a few clubs keen on signing him. Of late, German giants Bayern Munich have been making moves to acquire his services. And personal terms might not be an issue for the player.

According to reports, they have a personal agreement with the player and even submitted a bid to the club. Their initial bid did not suit Tottenham, and Spurs instantly rejected it. The German giants are looking to submit an improved bid in the near future.

Meanwhile, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen on keeping his star striker at the club. He is confident that the 29-year-old will pen down the new deal that will see his salary rise significantly from the current £200,000-a-week. Levy feels staying at Tottenham will be the best move for the England international not because of the money but because he believes Ange Postecoglou could turn things around.

However, the player is not looking to sign an extension as of now, at least not until the end of the summer. He wants to keep his options open of leaving in the summer, or next year as a free agent and even extending his stay at the club if he feels right.
