Chelsea will hold fresh talks with Flamengo as they look to sign their 19-year-old attacking midfielder Matheus Franca.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are keen on having Matheus Franca in their ranks ahead of next season. The 19-year-old Brazilian sensation has been the talk of the town of late. And he is on the radar of multiple top clubs from across Europe. Meanwhile, the Blues are in a hurry as they do not want to miss out on him.
The teenage sensation has come through the ranks at Flamengo, and he was promoted to their first team back in the winter of 2022. The Brazil Under-20 star has since gone from strength to strength and is currently on the radar of some of the biggest clubs.
A few of them wanted to sign him back in January. But Flamengo were not ready to sell. However, their stance seems to have changed and they are ready to let him leave for a fee of €25 million.
Newcastle United have been closely following the 19-year-old for a while. They even submitted a bid back in January, but it was rejected. They are still in contention but are behind Chelsea in the race for his signatures.

The Blues have been making moves to sign Franca for a while now. They have been in talks with Flamengo as the two clubs look to reach an agreement on a transfer fee. The Blues are ready to offer €20 million to secure the services of the 19-year-old. But the Brazilian club want at least €25 million.
Chelsea have scheduled a new round of talks with the Brazilian club. The Blues want to ensure they reach an agreement this time around. And, given the amount of interest in his services from elsewhere, the Blues might end up meeting the demands of Flamengo.
Franca might not be ready to take the Premier League by storm. But he surely is a talent for the future. And, with Chelsea looking to sign young players with huge potential, the 19-year-old perfectly fits the bill. If he joins, he will closely follow compatriot Angelo Gabriel to the West London club.
