Newcastle United are still keen on acquiring the services of 19-year-old Flamengo attacking midfielder Matheus Franca.

According to Julio Miguel Neto, Newcastle United are keen on having Matheus Franca in their ranks ahead of next season. The Magpies are ready to submit an improved offer to Flamengo as they look to land the teenage sensation at the club.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is a huge prospect for the future and a lot of clubs are keen on acquiring his services. Franca was promoted to the first team of the Brazilian club in the winter of 2022 and he has not looked back since.

He has made a total of 53 appearances for the first team and has been involved in nine goals. While the numbers are not exceptional, they are surely good enough for a teenager who has been used as a substitute on majority of the occasions.

His performances have attracted a lot of attention, and Newcastle are one of the clubs that have been closely following him for a while now. The Magpies have been doing some exceptional transfer business over the past few transfer windows. And, they are always on the lookout for young talented footballers who can help them create a team of world-beaters.

Franca is a perfect fit for the Newcastle project as he is young and has a promising career ahead. The Magpies are keen on having him in their ranks and have been making moves to land him at the club.

The English club submitted a 20 million offer to sign the 19-year-old back in January. But, the bid was rejected by the Brazilian club Flamengo. They want €25 million to part ways with the teenage sensation who still has four years left on his deal.

Signals from the Magpies end suggested that the 20 million offer was their final bid but they are all set to reignite their pursuit of the Brazil Under-20 star. Newcastle are all set to place a €22.5 million bid to acquire the versatile teenage sensation. With the Brazilian club seeking €25 million for the 19-year-old, it will be interesting to see if they accept this bid from Newcastle.
