According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Fenerbahce will have a tricky decision to make while selling Arda Guler in the summer transfer window. Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on signing the 18-year-old prodigy. And the Merengues are ready to include a sell-on clause worth 20 per cent to beat the Blaugrana to his signature.
Arda Guler has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the world since breaking into the Fenerbahce first team. The Turkish sensation has gone from strength to strength following his debut as a 16-year-old. And 2022/23 was his breakthrough campaign as a senior club-level footballer.
The 18-year-old contributed to 13 goals in 35 games in all competitions this past season. Guler found the back of the net six times while providing seven assists. And the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with several high-profile clubs setting their sights on him. Barcelona and Real Madrid are the best-placed suitors.
Recent reports have revealed that Barcelona stepped up the interest in the Turk, with Deco travelling to Turkey to hash out a summer deal. Meanwhile, reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Guler is prioritising moving to La Liga when he leaves Fenerbahce. And recent reports have claimed he dreams about joining Real Madrid, which might leave Barcelona in a spot of bother. Mundo Deportivo has now revealed Real Madrid’s intentions with an impending proposal.
The Merengues are ready to trigger Guler’s release clause but will pay half that this summer. And Real Madrid will then complete the payment with two further instalments. In addition, they are willing to include a sell-on clause worth 20 per cent to sweeten the deal for Fenerbahce. That makes it an attractive proposal by Real Madrid.
Fenerbahce will thus have two appealing offers on the table to sell Guler this summer. And it will also boil down to the player’s preference for his next destination. For now, it looks like the 18-year-old will move to Spain, with Barcelona and Real Madrid sparring for his signature.
