According to a report by The Sun, Fred is the subject of interest from AS Roma. Jose Mourinho wants to reunite with the Manchester United midfielder in the summer transfer window. And the Brazilian international will likely depart from Old Trafford ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Fred spent his formative years in his homeland before graduating from the Internacional Academy. But he rose to prominence after moving to Europe by joining Shakhtar Donetsk in June 2013. And after half a decade at the Ukrainian club, Manchester United snapped the 30-year-old up in a deal worth £47 million.
The Brazilian international has just completed his fifth season with Manchester United. And he has turned out over 200 times at the Premier League club, chipping in with 14 goals and 19 assists. But Fred’s Manchester United future is uncertain after he entered the final year of his contract. And the situation has captured the attention of AS Roma.
At AS Roma, Jose Mourinho wants to reunite with the player he brought to Manchester United five years ago. And he has asked the Serie A giants to launch the offensive for the experienced midfielder this summer. In addition, with Fred’s future uncertain, a move to Serie A might be possible.
