Deco has reportedly travelled to Turkey to hash out a possible deal to sign Fenerbahce’s 2005-born wonderkid Arda Guler.

According to reputed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Arda Guler remains a top target for Barcelona. And Deco has travelled to Turkey to find an agreement with Fenerbahce for the 2005-born wonderkid. The Turkish international is also a target for several other high-profile clubs in Europe.

Arda Guler has taken no time to see his stock skyrocket despite still being in his teens. The 18-year-old prodigy made his first-team debut for Fenerbahce nearly two years ago. And he has come leaps and bounds since then, becoming a regular for the Yellow Canaries this past season.

The 2005-born wonderkid turned out 35 times for Fenerbahce while contributing to 13 goals. Guler found the back of the net six times while providing seven assists in those outings. And the young Turk’s progress has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona.

Deco is reportedly pushing to secure Guler’s services in the summer transfer window. And Barcelona’s new sporting director is putting in the effort to beat the competition to his signature. The Turkish wonderkid is a target for several top outfits, including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Real Madrid.

Recent reports have also claimed that Guler dreams about joining Real Madrid when he leaves Fenerbahce. But Deco is working overtime to ensure the 18-year-old whizkid does not join Barcelona’s bitter rivals. And he has travelled to Turkey to discuss a possible summer move with Fenerbahce.

The report claims that Deco has made a concrete effort to convince Fenerbahce to sell Guler to Barcelona. But convincing the 2005-born wonderkid will be a bigger task for Barcelona and Deco. In addition, recent reports have suggested that the youngster’s entourage will demand a high commission from suitors.

The Turkish international reportedly has a release clause worth €17.5 million. And the commission will be around €20 million. But it will be interesting to see if Barcelona can convince Fenerbahce and Guler to snub the other suitors to join them this summer after Deco’s efforts to hash out a deal.
