Federico Valverde has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, but Real Madrid will not sell him this summer.

A report from Brahian Kuchman claims that Real Madrid are uninterested in selling 24-year-old Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde despite interest from Premier League clubs like Liverpool.

Apparently, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti considers the midfielder non-transferable. Valverde has been ever-present for Ancelotti in the last two seasons, and he has fulfilled multiple roles for his manager according to the team’s needs.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a massive admirer of the player and wanted to sign the Uruguayan international in the past as well. Valverde has been a key player for Real Madrid in recent seasons, and his ability to perform at a high level in multiple roles makes him an indispensable asset for the club.

Liverpool desperately need midfield reinforcements, and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in the necessary additions. There is no doubt he would have been a quality signing for them, and he could have improved Liverpool immensely. The South American midfielder can operate as a central midfielder as well as a winger.

Liverpool have parted ways with players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner. Someone like Valverde could definitely fill the void left by those players. However, it is highly unlikely that the 24-year-old utility man will be keen on a move to Anfield.

Liverpool have failed to secure Champions League qualification, and a player of his quality will want to compete at the highest level. Furthermore, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are on their last legs. So Real Madrid will not want to weaken their squad any further.

They will look to put together midfield for the future, and Valverde will certainly be one of the main players for the future. Real Madrid recently beat Liverpool to the signature of Jude Bellingham.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion. They will hope the World Cup winner can make an immediate impact at Anfield next season. The Reds are keen on Dominik Szoboszlai, Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone as well.
