Newcastle United reportedly want to acquire the services of 26-year-old Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri from La Liga club Sevilla.

According to a report by Fichajes, Newcastle United are keen on signing Youssef En-Nesyri in a deal worth €35 million. The 26-year-old striker has made quite a name for himself with consistent performances for both club and country. His performances have attracted a lot of attention of late, and the Magpies are one of the clubs interested in acquiring him.

En-Nesyri joined Sevilla back in the winter of 2020 from CD Leganes. He has gone from strength to strength since joining Los Nervionenses. The 26-year-old has since featured in 155 matches and has 58 goal contributions.

Out of his 53 goals, 18 came in the recently-concluded season. En-Nesyri had yet another sensational season with the La Liga side as he contributed towards a total of 20 goals and guided them to the UEFA Europa League title.

He was the mainstay of his team in the FIFA World Cup 2022. The 26-year-old was one of the reasons why Morocco created history and became the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the global event.

His impressive performances for both club and country have attracted a lot of attention. And, Newcastle United are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The Magpies had an exceptional 2022/23 season as they managed to qualify for next season’s Champions League with a top-four finish.

Now, their manager Eddie Howe is focused on strengthening his squad to be competitive in both the UCL and the Premier League. He is looking to add another striker to the mix and has his eyes on En-Nesyri.

The Moroccan international’s contract with La Liga club Sevilla runs until the summer of 2025. He is a key figure in their squad, and they would love to have him at the club for as long as possible. However, the Spanish club are in desperate need of funds and could let him leave for the right price.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are ready to pay €35 million to acquire the 26-year-old. But, as per the report, the €35 million bid won’t stand a chance as Sevilla consider him to be a lot more valuable. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Newcastle United can improve their bid before submitting it.
