Manchester United, Newcastle United vying for Carlos Baleba

Manchester United and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old Lille midfielder Carlos Baleba.

According to a report via Sport Witness, Manchester United are hoping to sign Carlos Baleba in the summer transfer window. And they will face competition from Newcastle United for the 19-year-old Lille midfielder.

Baleba has been a useful player for Lille in Ligue 1, and he could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for the two Premier League clubs. Manchester United and Newcastle United certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done. And it will be interesting to see where the 19-year-old midfielder ends up.

Manchester United will need to add more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and the 19-year-old would be a superb long-term acquisition. Players like Fred and Scott McTominay have been linked with moves away from Old Trafford. So the Red Devils will have to replace them adequately.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements. They have secured qualification to the UEFA Champions League but are lacking in quality in the middle of the park. Bruno Guimaraes is the only reliable central midfielder at the club. So Newcastle must look to invest in more than one midfielder this summer.

Interestingly, McTominay has been linked with a move to Newcastle United. But the 19-year-old Baleba could prove to be an interesting acquisition for Newcastle United, and it will be interesting to see if they can beat Manchester United to his signature.

Both Premier League clubs will be able to offer him UEFA Champions League football next season, and the player will probably want to join a side where he will get ample first-team action. Both Manchester United and Newcastle United have the opportunity to give him plenty of game time next season.

In addition, managers like Eddie Howe and Erik ten Hag have done well to nurture talented young players in the past. A move to either club would be an exciting next step in the career of the 19-year-old midfielder, and he will hope to continue his development with regular football in England and fulfil his tremendous potential.
