Arsenal continue to push for the West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, with the Hammers rejecting a bid from Manchester City.

A report from Daily Mail claims that Arsenal will now offer £100 million for Declan Rice after having a bid of around £75 million and add-ons rejected for the player. The English international is keen on joining the North London club.

It is no secret that Arsenal will face competition from Premier League champions Manchester City, who have just had a £90 million bid rejected for the midfielder according to a report from The Athletic.

Both clubs seem quite keen on signing the England international, and it will be interesting to see where Rice ends up. The midfielder has been heavily linked with Arsenal for months and is reportedly keen on joining the London club as well. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can beat the Premier League champions and secure his signature.

The opportunity to play for both clubs will be an exciting proposition for the young midfielder. Rice helped West Ham United win the UEFA Europa Conference League this past season, and he will look to make his mark in the Champions League now.

Both Manchester City and Arsenal can provide him with the opportunity to compete for major trophies. But Manchester City have a more proven track record of winning silverware. Furthermore, Pep Guardiola’s side have more financial resources compared to Arsenal as well.

It seems that the two clubs will have to break their transfer record in order to sign the 24-year-old midfielder. Rice has been a key player for West Ham over the years, and he is undoubtedly one of the most promising midfielders in the league.

Although the asking price might seem quite steep right now, the England international has the potential to justify the investment in the coming seasons. Rice has shown his quality at the international level with England as well, and he was a key player for his country in the European Championships and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 24-year-old wants to take the next step in his career, and he needs to join a club with a clear plan for him and the ability to compete at the highest level consistently. While Arsenal have an interesting and ambitious project, Manchester City have turned into a juggernaut under Pep Guardiola, and they are unlikely to stop winning major trophies anytime soon.
