According to the Daily Star, Tottenham are hopeful of signing Edmond Tapsoba after submitting a £25 million offer. The 24-year-old defender is reportedly keen to join Spurs, who may have finally landed on a firm target for their defence after a few attempts to sign other stars.
Tottenham are ramping up their efforts in the transfer market as Ange Postecoglu tries to add a few names to his squad. Spurs have already signed Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent deal from Juventus and followed that up by securing the services of Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
With the latter, they have secured a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and solved a problematic position. Now, they will switch their attention towards bringing a new defender that suits their style. Since the days of Antonio Conte, Tottenham have been looking for a left-sided centre-back, and now they are getting close to their preferred target.

They have also been linked to Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, but the Cottagers will demand a significant fee to allow a transfer. Hence, they might have felt Tapsoba was a viable target and possibly a cheaper option compared to their other targets.
