Mauricio Pochettino wants Chelsea to acquire the services of 26-year-old Barcelona winger Raphinha ahead of next season.

According to a report by Fichajes, Chelsea are keen on having Raphinha in their ranks. Their new manager Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of the player and has asked the club to sign the 26-year-old Barcelona forward.

Raphinha’s future has been uncertain for a while now. Despite playing an important part in their recent La Liga triumph, he is not certain to have similar game time next season. As a result, the Brazil international could be on his way back to Premier League.

Xavi prefers playing Ousmane Dembele on the right flank. And, an injury to the Frenchman was one of the major reasons why Raphinha made a total of 50 appearances and contributed towards 22 goals in the 2022/23 season. With Dembele back fit, the former Leeds United winger’s game time could take a hit next season.

On top of that, the Catalan giants are expected to push for the services of Arda Guler. The 18-year-old Turkish international is one of the hottest prospects in world football and Barcelona are keen on having him in their ranks. His arrival could further limit Raphinha’s game time.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have been struggling with finances and the 26-year-old’s departure could allow them to try and strengthen their squad. While the player is keen on staying at the Spanish club, they could let him leave if the right offer arrives.

As per reports, Xavi’s team could let him leave for a fee of around €60 million. And, Chelsea are one of the clubs ready to break the bank and acquire the former Leeds winger. Mauricio Pochettino wants to have him at his disposal and he is keen on making him a marquee signing ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The 26-year-old could be the much-needed attacking reinforcement for the Blues who struggled to score goals last season. Despite spending a fortune on new players over the past two transfer windows, Chelsea had a disappointing season last time out. And, Raphinha’s arrival could help them climb back to the top of English football.
