Kylian Mbappe will only leave Paris Saint-Germain to join Real Madrid this summer if he receives a loyalty bonus of €150 million.

According to a report by Spanish outlet MARCA, Kylian Mbappe has set out a condition to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old is a target for Real Madrid. But he will only seal the move if he receives the loyalty bonus, worth €150 million, which he is entitled to pocket if he stays till June 2024.

For years, Kylian Mbappe has seemed destined to join Real Madrid. The French international has previously professed his love for the Spanish club, revealing Los Blancos as his dream team. But a move is yet to materialise as he has chosen to spend the last six years at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old has had various opportunities to join Real Madrid. And the most golden chance to move to the Santiago Bernabeu came last summer when he would have become a free agent. But the player chose to sign a new contract with PSG instead of sealing a dream move to Real Madrid.

Despite all the speculation surrounding him, Mbappe’s levels have been high. And he amassed 41 goals and ten assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this past season. Meanwhile, the Frenchman won the Golden Boot at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. But his PSG future has come under a cloud of uncertainty after he revealed he would not sign a new contract with them.

But the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has also quashed suggestions he wants to join Real Madrid this summer. But that has not stopped Los Blancos from rekindling the interest in the 24-year-old. And recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid and PSG have already sealed the deal for Mbappe’s services. But a new stumbling block has appeared for Real Madrid and PSG.

The report by MARCA claims that Mbappe will only leave if he receives the loyalty bonus, worth €150 million, he is entitled to if he stays until June 2024. But such a request is bizarre, considering he will likely leave this summer. That said, the French international is ready to honour his contract with PSG.

Instead, Les Parisiens want to cash in on their prized asset, as they can lose him for free next year. So it will be interesting to see if the latest bone of contention disappears. For now, Mbappe is no closer to completing a dream move to Real Madrid this summer.
