Robert Lewandowski has reportedly snubbed an offer from Saudi Arabia worth €150 million as he does not want to leave Barcelona.

According to Polish outlet Meczyki, Robert Lewandowski has rebuffed an approach to move to Saudi Arabia. While the club’s identity is unclear, the Barcelona talisman could have pocketed wages worth €150 million per year. But he does not want to leave the Catalan club anytime soon.

Robert Lewandowski joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich and immediately hit the ground running. The Polish international arrived at Spotify Camp Nou on the back of a stunning stint at the Allianz Arena. And after winning every trophy, he wanted to embark on a new adventure last summer.

The move to Barcelona has worked out well for the 34-year-old, who won the Pichichi trophy in La Liga. And the veteran striker amassed an excellent tally of 33 goals and eight assists in 46 outings as Barcelona won the league title. But recent reports have linked Lewandowski’s name with the Saudi Arabian juggernaut.

The Saudi Pro League began the cavalcade by signing Cristiano Ronaldo following his disgraced departure from Manchester United. Since then, they have poached Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and several other world-class players from top European clubs. In addition, several Chelsea players, including Kalidou Koulibaly, are on the verge of moving to Saudi Arabia.

Their next target was Robert Lewandowski, who remains on top of his game despite his advancing years. The report does not mention the club that would have signed the Barcelona talisman. But with the Saudi Arabian government effectively controlling the league, the team’s identity is irrelevant.

Meanwhile, the report suggests Lewandowski would have pocketed wages worth €150 million per year. But he has rebuffed the approach from Saudi Arabia as he does not want to leave Barcelona anytime soon. In addition, talks over a deal never began as the player did not even entertain the approach.
