Declan Rice has been linked with a summer move away from West Ham United, with Arsenal and Manchester United hoping to sign him.

According to a report from Daily Mail, West Ham United value their star midfielder at £100 million, and clubs like Arsenal have already failed with bids for the midfielder. Manchester United have now entered the race to sign the player, and they are willing to offer £40 million along with two players to sign the England international.

Rice has been a key player for West Ham in recent seasons, and he helped them win the UEFA Europa Conference league last season. The English international will be hoping to take the next step in his career and play for a club capable of winning major trophies.

The 24-year-old midfielder wants to compete in the Champions League, and Manchester United can provide him with that opportunity. The Red Devils are hoping to sign him in a part-exchange deal, offering £40 million along with Harry Maguire and Anthony Elanga.

West Ham are reportedly open to part-exchange deals, and it will be interesting to see if the Hammers are willing to accept Manchester United’s offer. Rice has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the league, and he could prove to be a solid long-term acquisition for the Red Devils.

Manchester United will need players of his quality if they want to close the gap to Manchester City and win the league title next season. Rice would be a major upgrade on players like Fred and Scott McTominay. He could form a quality partnership alongside Casemiro next season.

Manchester United are trying to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea as well, and it seems that they are looking to form a midfield trio of Casemiro, Mount and Rice. The Red Devils already have a talented squad at their disposal. And signing players like Rice will help them reach the next level.

They managed to win a domestic trophy last year and will be hoping to go all the way in the Premier League and win the title this year. Rice is clearly an ambitious player and is likely to be tempted to join a club like Manchester United.

The Red Devils certainly have the finances to get the deal done but part-exchange transfers are often complicated and it remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few weeks. Arsenal are prepared to pay big money for the 24-year-old England international as well. But the Gunners will have to move quickly if they want to secure his services.
