Manchester United are willing to make an offer for Arsenal target Declan Rice and ponder including Harry Maguire or Scott McTominay.

The Telegraph reports that Manchester United are willing to enter the race for Declan Rice and make an offer. The Red Devils are ready to offer one of Harry Maguire or Scott McTominay in exchange for the 24-year-old Arsenal target.

The Declan Rice race seems to have picked up the heat, with other clubs also looking to steal the march. Arsenal have been the firm contender till now, but the report claims the scenario could change f the Gunners cannot agree on a fee with West Ham United.

Arsenal submitted a second bid on Tuesday amounting to £90 million, including add-ons. The consensus points to problems with the payment structure and the viability of the add-ons in the deal. Overall, the Gunners are confident of sealing the move and are primed to make a third offer soon.

In the last week, reports of Manchester City’s imminent bid were seen in the media. Yet, despite notable outlets claiming the Premier League champions were keen on the 24-year-old Arsenal target, there was no offer. Manchester United have entered the conversation, with the report claiming they are willing to make an offer.

Nothing noteworthy or interesting in the report pointed towards a concrete interest from Manchester United. Instead, it merely suggests the Red Devils could consider entering the chase, provided they can construct a deal within their relatively limited transfer budget for the summer.

The present story insists Manchester United could look to add 30-year-old Harry Maguire or Scott McTominay as part of the deal to tempt the Hammers. As for the latter, he already has interest from Newcastle United, with Eddie Howe keener than ever to sign him/

Maguire could leave Manchester United in search of regular minutes elsewhere. While he could consider joining West Ham, the London side may ill-afford his current £200,000-a-week salary. Hence, it all seems like an effort from the Red Devils to see whether the Hammers might reduce their asking price for Rice.

West Ham are not about to budge on their asking price at any cost. Arsenal is prolonging a concerted effort to negotiate and meet the Hammers n the middle for the midfielder. Previous reports also suggested Erik ten Hag was unhappy the club’s takeover plans are affecting a potential pursuit of Rice.

The report also stresses Arsenal being the clear favourite and mentions that Rice is keen to join them. Yet, the stories about Manchester United’s interest do not make sense, as they struggle with finances. In conclusion, even if they hold a serious interest, the Red Devils are probably too late to enter the race now.
