Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with a summer move away from Coventry City, with Fulham and West Ham United reportedly keen on him.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Fulham and West Ham United are keen on signing Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, who is valued at £25 million, from Championship club Coventry City.

Gyokeres has proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer in the second division with Coventry City. The striker scored 21 goals and picked up 12 assists across all competitions and helped his side reach the play-off finals, where they lost in a penalty shootout to Luton Town.

He will be desperate to play in the Premier League next season, and Fulham could provide him with that opportunity. The West London club wer overly dependent on Aleksandar Mitrovic for goals this past season. And when the Serbian international was suspended towards the end of the season, Fulham struggled in the final third.

Marco Silva should look to bring in more quality in the final third, and Gyokeres could prove to be a quality partner for Mitrovic. Similarly, West Ham struggled to score goals consistently last season. The likes of Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca failed to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. So David Moyes needs to invest in a quality striker in the summer transfer window.

The Coventry City striker could prove to be a quality acquisition for West Ham. He has just 12 months left on his current contract, and Coventry will be under pressure to sell him if he does not sign an extension with them. Furthermore, the £25 million asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his ability.

The Swedish international striker will want to make his mark at the highest level. And a move to the Premier League would be the ideal next step in his career. Both Fulham and West Ham would represent an exciting move for him.

However, West Ham will be able to offer him European football next season, which could make them a more attractive destination compared to the other London club. It will be interesting to see where the £25 million-rated striker lands this summer.
