Barcelona will reportedly look to sign 19-year-old Spanish wonderkid Alberto Moleiro in a deal worth €10 million this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Alberto Moleiro is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Catalan giants want to oversee an operation similar to the one that secured Pedri’s services a few years ago. And they are ready to offer €10 million-plus-add-ons to land the 19-year-old Las Palmas wonderkid.

Alberto Moleiro is one of the brightest young prospects in his homeland. The Spanish wonderkid started at Sobradillo before joining UD Las Palmas half a decade ago. And he has come leaps and bounds in the last half a decade, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for the Gran Canarian club.

The 19-year-old has been a part of the Las Palmas first-team squad since the 2021/22 season. And Moleiro enjoyed a solid 2022/23 campaign, chipping in with eight assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. The youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed either, with Barcelona among his prospective suitors.

Moleiro has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. And the Catalan giants have been weighing up a move for the teenage sensation for most of 2023. The interest in the youngster is understandable, considering his ability to reprise roles centrally and on the flanks.

So amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres, Moleiro can be a long-term solution out wide. Alternatively, the 19-year-old Spanish wonderkid can play a central role if Xavi Hernandez utilises four midfielders. So the Las Palmas whizkid is a viable target for Barcelona this summer.

The Catalan giants are now ready to step up their efforts to secure Moleiro’s services this summer. And they are ready to offer €10 million to Las Palmas to land the teenage prodigy in the coming weeks. In addition, Barcelona will also propose performance-related add-ons to the Gran Canarian club.

Signing Moleiro in such an operation will be reminiscent of the arrangement to land Pedri. And if the 19-year-old Spanish wonderkid embarks on a trajectory similar to his compatriot, the newly-crowned La Liga champions will have a bargain on their hands.
