Tottenham Hotspur are all set to battle it out with Chelsea for the services of 21-year-old Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson.

According to a report by Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of Nicolas Jackson. Spurs are all set to battle it out with Chelsea, who have been monitoring him for a while now. The 21-year-old was on fire in the 2022/23 season, and quite a few clubs are keen on acquiring him ahead of next season.

Jackson has come through the ranks at Villarreal, he was promoted to their first team last summer. Post that he featured in 38 matches in the 2022/23 season and managed to find the back of the net on 13 occasions and he even created five goals for his teammates.

The Senegalese international was exceptional in front of the goal and his performances have attracted attention from English clubs. While the 21-year-old’s contract at the club runs until the summer of 2026, Jackson is expected to be on the move in the summer given the amount of interest in him.

On top of that, there is a release clause of around £34 million in his contract, which could lead to his departure. Chelsea are one of the clubs who have been monitoring the Villarreal forward for a while now.

The Blues struggled in front of goal in the recently-concluded season, and their new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is keen on resolving the issue as soon as possible. Pochettino is an admirer of the 21-year-old and wants him at Chelsea as soon as possible. And, as per reports, he has already agreed personal terms with the Blues.

However, Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race and they are looking to hijack the deal. Spurs are keen on bolstering their attack ahead of next season. They want to acquire someone who can share the goalscoring load with Harry Kane and eventually replace him amidst uncertainty around his future.

Tottenham are willing to battle it out with Chelsea for the services of the 21-year-old, and they are looking to place a bid close to his release clause. With Spurs ready to go all the way, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
