Barcelona and Vitor Roque have reportedly sealed the agreement over personal terms, but a move may materialise in 2024.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona and Vitor Roque have agreed to personal terms. But a move might not materialise in the summer transfer window. And Toni Juanmarti has claimed that the Blaugrana might have to wait until at least January 2024 to bring the 18-year-old to the club.

Vitor Roque is one of the best young strikers in the world, with his stock soaring in the last 12 months. The Brazilian international did not have much spotlight on him during his formative years, with other prospects rising to prominence instead. But he has gone from strength to strength since joining Athletico Paranaense from Cruzeiro in April 2022.

The 18-year-old grew in stature last season before making his mark at the Under-20 South American Championships. And Vitor Roque’s progress has continued this season, with the young striker amassing ten goals and five assists in 25 appearances. The teenage sensation has also made his debut for the Brazilian national side. And his growth has alerted several top clubs, including Barcelona.

Vitor Roque’s name has been high on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. And recent reports have claimed that the youngster is a priority target for the Blaugrana. In addition, the latest updates this week pointed to Barcelona reaching an agreement over a summer deal for the 18-year-old. But those suggestions seem wide off the mark.

The Catalan giants are yet to match Athletico Paranaense’s valuation of the Brazilian striker. But Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Barcelona and Vitor Roque have sealed the agreement over personal terms. Meanwhile, Toni Juanmarti has suggested that Barcelona might have to wait until at least January 2024 to land him.

A separate report by Goal has revealed that Barcelona will be willing to pay €40 million to secure Vitor Roque’s services. But the Blaugrana and Athletico-PR are differing on the mode of payment. While the newly-crowned La Liga champions want to complete the transaction in four instalments, the Brazilian club will want fewer deferred payments.

Nonetheless, Barcelona and Vitor Roque have taken a step closer to sealing the deal. But it is unclear when the Catalan giants will succeed in bringing him to the club. They will be determined to reach an agreement with Athletico Paranaense soon.
