Real Madrid plan to announce Joselu deal next week

Real Madrid have reportedly been linked with a move for in-form Spanish striker Joselu in recent weeks.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are close to finalising the deal to sign Joselu. And the experienced striker is likely to seal his move next week. Personal terms have already been agreed with the Spanish international, and the agreement is likely to be signed in the coming days.

Joselu scored 17 goals this past season, and he should prove to be a useful acquisition for Real Madrid. The 33-year-old is experienced, and he will know what it takes to play for a big club like Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants need to add more goals to their side after the departure of club legend Karim Benzema. The French international striker has decided to move to Saudi Arabia and he will have to be replaced accordingly.

While Joselu has done well this past season, he is unlikely to be enough to replace Benzema. Instead, he will likely fill the spot vacated by Mariano Diaz. So Real Madrid must look to invest in a talented young striker as well. Los Blancos have been linked with players like Harry Kane in recent weeks. But the Tottenham striker is likely to cost a premium.

It will be interesting to see who they end up signing eventually. There is no doubt that Real Madrid are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, and they have the finances to sign most players. Links with Kylian Mbappe have resurfaced in recent days, especially now that the French international has confirmed that he will not renew his contract with PSG.

Mbappe would certainly transform Real Madrid in an attacking sense if Los Blancos managed to sign him. Meanwhile, Joselu will be hoping to make his mark at a big club and play as much as possible next season. Real Madrid are unlikely to be signing him as a starter, and the 33-year-old is more suited to the role of a squad player.

It was a disappointing season for Real Madrid by their standards, failing to win the Champions League or La Liga title. They must look to improve their squad this summer so that they can bounce back strongly next season. Real Madrid have already signed Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. And if they can strengthen their attack considerably, they should be able to fight for major trophies once again.
