Manchester United could line up an audacious move for Kylian Mbappe, who will not sign a contract extension at PSG.

According to El Chiringuito TV, Manchester United could move for Kylian Mbappe in the summer. The French superstar has informed PSG of his intentions to leave the club in 2024. And the Ligue 1 giants could look to cash in this window amid competing interest from Real Madrid.

There has been a massive development in the last 48 hours concerning Kylian Mbappe’s future. The French superstar has had another exceptional season. The player scored 41 goals across all competitions while helping win PSG another Ligue 1 title and taking France to the World Cup final, where he scored a hat-trick.

However, year after year, his future becomes the main story in the media. And there is another saga on the horizon. After ending speculation last summer by signing a new, highly-lucrative deal with PSG, Mbappe has confirmed his intention not to take up the extra year option.

While he has intended to stay put and see out the last year of his two-year contract, PSG might look to cash in. There are hardly a handful of clubs capable of making a massive financial investment in the superstar, with Real Madrid the obvious front-runners.

Chelsea were also credited with an interest. But financial restrictions could force the Blues to bow out. However, if Todd Boehly sees an opportunity, he could still look for ways to make it work, although overall, it seems unlikely.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are reportedly planning a €200 million bid for Mbappe in the summer. If that happens, they will have surpassed the €300 million mark after securing Jude Bellingham in a deal well over €100 million.

The Spanish giants are not alone in this chase, as Manchester United could reportedly line up an audacious move for Mbappe this summer. Much will depend on the takeover situation, with El Chiringuito TV suggesting Qatar could move out of PSG and look to invest in the Premier League club.

Manchester United are the subject of speculation with their takeover situation. Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim is one of the front-runners to buy the club from the Glazers. However, the report suggests that any move for Mbappe could only be possible if the Qatar takeover is completed.

Then there is the question about Mbappe, who had previously suggested his desire to sign for Real Madrid on more than one occasion. The Spanish side’s tarnished relations with PSG could also allow Manchester United to swoop in, but overall it seems unlikely.

If the Qatari takeover succeeds, then they might look at a player like Mbappe to become their spotlight signing. However, any deal will involve plenty of money and more than what Manchester United spent in the last few years, although they remain capable of pulling off such an audacious move.
