Moises Caicedo has been linked with a summer move away from Brighton & Hove Albion, with Arsenal and Chelsea keen.

Clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Moises Caicedo. But the 21-year-old has a preference towards Chelsea because of their lucrative financial package, according to Football Transfers. And an agreement over a £200,000-a-week deal is on the cards.

Caicedo has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the Premeir League, and he could prove to be a sensational acquisition for Arsenal and Chelsea. Chelsea need to bring in midfield reinforcements, especially with players like N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo could be the ideal partner for Enzo Fernandes at the heart of their midfield. Apparently, the Blues are offering him a package worth around £200,000 per week. Meanwhile, Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the midfielder, and they tried to sign the player during the January transfer window as well.

However, the move did not materialise back then and the player went on to sign a new long-term contract with Brighton. It appears that the Seagulls are now prepared to cash in on him for the right price. But it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Arsenal need to add more quality in the middle of the park as well, and Caicedo would have been the ideal partner for Thomas Partey. The 21-year-old is excellent at winning the ball back for his side and his ability to hold on to the ball would have helped the Gunners control games better.

Furthermore, the player is still only 21 and is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. The Ecuador international has all the tools to develop into a world-class midfielder in the coming seasons.

Chelsea have recently appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager, and the Argentine is exceptional at nurturing talented young players. He could help the Brighton midfielder continue his development with regular football at Stamford Bridge and fulfil his tremendous potential.

As for Arsenal, they will need to add more quality to their squad after qualifying for the Champions League. So it remains to be seen whether they can identify a proper alternative to Caicedo. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if the Brighton midfielder pens a £200,000-a-week deal with Chelsea.
