Chelsea and Manchester United will have to fork out around €60 million to acquire the services of Rasmus Hojlund.

According to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, Chelsea and Manchester United are two clubs interested in signing Rasmus Hojlund ahead of next season. The 20-year-old has been on fire since making the move to Serie A and there are quite a lot of clubs that are monitoring the young forward.

The Denmark international has had quite an impact since joining Atalanta ahead of the 2022-23 season. He has been involved in 34 matches and has 14 goal contributions. He has found the back of the net on 10 occasions.

The 20-year-old was on fire in the European Qualifiers for Denmark earlier in the year, he scored five goals in two outings. Hojlund’s has gone from strength to strength since moving to Italy and already there are a number of clubs ready to bet on him.

Romano said: “Hojlund is one of many names in Man United list, he’s appreciated,”

“The price tag is not confirmed yet but could be close to €60m at least, some sources suggest. Many, really many top clubs sent their scouts to follow him this year including Chelsea.”

While his contract with the Italian club runs until the summer of 2027, he could be on the move in the summer for a fee of around €60 million. It might sound like quite a huge price for someone who has just made a move to one of the top five European leagues but his potential suggests he can turn it into a bargain.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Chelsea are the two clubs that are willing to bet on the 20-year-old. The Red Devils are in search of a new striker, someone who can share the goal-scoring load with Marcus Rashford.

While their priority is to land Harry Kane, they are well aware of the fact that Spurs won’t let him go with ease. As a result, they have been monitoring Hojlund for a while and even the player is thrilled to be linked with the club.

Meanwhile, the Blues don’t have an out-and-out striker who can guarantee them goals. They have struggled to score in the 2022-23 season and Mauricio Pochettino is determined to turn things around by signing someone who will add goals to his ranks.

While the sample size of the 20-year-old is quite small, he has all the skills to make it big. And, there could be a war between Chelsea and Manchester United for the services of the Denmark international.
