N’Golo Kante has already undergone one part of his medicals with Al Ittihad ahead of completing his high-profile move to Saudi Arabia.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed N’Golo Kante had completed the first part of his medicals ahead of a move to Al Ittihad. The Chelsea fan favourite is closing in on a summer exit from Stamford Bridge, with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia on the cards.

Chelsea could bid farewell to one of their loyal servants over the years, effectively transforming their fortunes. Since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Leicester City, N’Golo Kante has won everything that’s there to win at club level.

A Premier League title with the Blues under Antonio Conte and a Champions League crown with Thomas Tuchel made the midfielder one of the most accomplished names on the continent. He also won the World Cup with France in 2018 while bringing a Chelsea player.

The last season was marred with injuries as Kante barely featured in a disastrous campaign for Chelsea. After disagreements with the new club hierarchy, there have been rumblings of an exit since the start of the season.

Despite reports last month claiming Chelsea were willing to extend the Frenchman’s contract, he has now decided to move on. The Chelsea fan favourite is closing in on their summer exit with a move to Saudi Arabia seemingly inching closer.

Al Ittihad seems like Kante’s new destination, with the midfielder set to sign a two-year deal with the Saudi club. He will have the option of a third year. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Frenchman will earn a staggering €100 million per season with the middle eastern club.

Last week reports pointed to Saudi officials being in London to seal Kante’s signing. After a slight impasse, the move is set to proceed as Kante has completed the first part of his medicals with Al Ittihad. His departure leaves a big void at Chelsea.

The Stamford Bridge side are already on the lookout for a replacement. They have already lost out in the race for Manuel Ugarte, but Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants Moises Caicedo to replace Kante.

Either way, it’s a big departure that Chelsea will have to smartly replace in the summer. Kante has been very important, but he will likely finish his career in the middle east, which marks the end of an era for a great player in Europe.
