Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne in the summer transfer window.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Timothy Castagne is on Arsenal’s radar, and the Gunners could look to make their move for him in the coming weeks. The report claims that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda as well.

Leicester City have been relegated to the EFL Championship, and the Belgian international is unlikely to play in the second division next year. He will want to return to the top flight, so the opportunity to play for Arsenal could prove to be hard to turn down.

The Gunners are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they did quite well this past season. Arsenal managed to push Manchester City for the Premier League title, and they have returned to the Champions League as well.

Mikel Arteta used Ben White as their right-back last season. But the former Brighton & Hove Albion star is more suited to a central role. So Arsenal should look to bring in a specialist right-back. Castagne would be a quality acquisition for the right price. But it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can get the deal done.

The Belgian international has done well for Leicester City since he moving to England. And he could be a useful squad option for Arsenal in the coming seasons. The 27-year-old is at the peak of his career right now, and he will look to make his mark at a big club.

There will be an increased number of fixtures next season. So Arsenal need a bigger and better squad to cope with that. They need to bring in more depth in the defence and the midfield this summer. Meanwhile, Ivan Fresneda is also a top target for Arsenal this summer.

Leicester City will want to hold on to their key players but they are powerless to stop them from leaving after relegation. The top players will want to move on during the summer transfer window and it remains to be seen whether the Foxes can convince Castagne to continue at the club despite the interest from Arsenal.
