Manchester United will prioritise signing 32-year-old Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou from La Liga club Sevilla this summer.

Rudy Galetti has told Give Me Sport that Yassine Bounou is the subject of interest from Manchester United. And the Red Devils view the Sevilla goalkeeper as their top target for the summer transfer window. The Andalusian club will demand £12 million to part ways with the 32-year-old shot-stopper.

Yassine Bounou took some time to get into the limelight. But he has come leaps and bounds since guiding Sevilla to the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League title. The Moroccan international has also earned recognition on the international stage, helping his nation reach the FIFA World Cup 2022 semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Bono, as he is fondly known, was in fine form in the 2022/23 season despite Sevilla’s inconsistencies. But the 32-year-old might be displeased by the tally of conceding 60 goals in 36 appearances. However, that has not deterred the player’s suitors, with Manchester United keen on signing him from La Liga club Sevilla.

Manchester United will delve into the market for a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. While widespread reports suggest David de Gea will soon sign a new contract, Erik ten Hag wants another shot-stopper to compete with the Spaniard. So Manchester United will look for a top-class goalkeeper.

Several shot-stoppers have thus emerged on Manchester United’s radar, including Yassine Bounou. And the Red Devils view the 32-year-old as a top target heading into the summer transfer window. In addition, the experienced goalkeeper will not cost much, with La Liga giants Sevilla demanding only £12 million to sell him.

The asking price will not burn a hole in Manchester United’s pocket. And with the Moroccan international becoming their top target, a summer deal might be on the cards. In addition, the veteran stopper has the quality to compete with David de Gea for the no. 1 berth in the team.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United will readily shell out £12 million to secure Bono’s services. For now, the 32-year-old has emerged as the top target for the Red Devils as they eye a summer move for the Sevilla star.
