Chelsea have enquired about Nicolo Barella during talks with Inter Milan for their other stars as Todd Boehly looks for a new midfielder.
According to Felix Johnstone, Chelsea are interested in Nicolo Barella ahead of the summer window. The Blues have reportedly enquired about the 26-year-old Italian international’s availability during talks with Inter Milan for their other players.
Chelsea are in the market with the serious intention of shaping up their squad according to Mauricio Pochettino’s specifications. The Blues finished the season in 12th position, which brought in plenty of criticism following their massive spending in the last two windows.
Pochettino will want many players to leave and some to arrive as he prepares a squad capable enough to challenge for honours. One of their key requirements is in midfield, with departures expected during the close season.
N’Golo Kante has already left the club for Saudi Arabia, while there are speculations about Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic. They also lost Jorginho in January, leaving Enzo Fernandez as the only one with a guaranteed spot in the team.

Their primary objective is to bring a partner for the Argentine, and they have already lost the race for top target Manuel Ugarte. They have also set sights on Moises Caicedo but face plenty of competition, particularly from Arsenal, who are ready to swoop in for the midfielder.
They are exploring other names in the market, with Nicolo Barella the latest to feature on their shortlist. Felix Johnstone claimed Chelsea had already enquired about the 26-year-old Italian international during their talks with Inter Milan. The midfielder has tremendous interest from the Premier League, with the Blues now joining some notable rivals.
He claimed Chelsea and Inter held talks about goalkeeper Andre Onana and striker Lautaro Martinez. They could have also discussed possibilities about Romelu Lukaku, but the Barella subject could get intriguing. Inter Milan will likely demand a huge fee for the 26-year-old Italian international, which Chelsa won’t agree to pay.
The going prices for the 26-year-old could be similar to what Brighton will demand for Caicedo. Any further talks will have to wait until after the Champions League Final, but there will be difficulties in concluding any deal for the Inter Milan star.
