Chelsea will have to break the bank and pay around €100-110 million for the services of AC Milan shot-stopper Mike Maignan.
According to Calciodangolo, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Mike Maignan. The 27-year-old has been in red-hot form over the last few seasons and is on the radar of multiple clubs from across Europe. But, AC Milan seem determined to keep him at the club and have placed a huge €100-110 million price tag on him.
The French international joined AC Milan back in the summer of 2021. The Italian giants paid a fee of €15.40 million to acquire him from LOSC Lille. In his very first season, the 27-year-old produced some exceptional performances and guided Milan to the Serie A title. In the process, he kept 17 clean sheets and was voted the best goalkeeper of the season.
Maignan has been consistent in goal for the Italian giants right from the start, and the 2022/23 season was also a good one for the French international. He kept eight clean sheets in his 22 league outings. His performances have attracted a lot of attention of late.
Despite having a contract at the club that runs until the summer of 2026, the 27-year-old could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window. Maignan is not happy with Paolo Maldini’s sacking and made his disappointment known through a story on his social media. And, he might not push for a move elsewhere. However, suitors will have to break the bank for his services.
Chelsea are one of the clubs keen on having the 27-year-old in their ranks. Their new manager Mauricio Pochettino does not trust Edouard Mendy or Kepa Arrizabalaga. They have not been consistent enough of late, and the former Spurs boss is looking for a new shot-stopper.
He admires Maignan and would love to have him at his disposal. And, according to reports, Chelsea have already presented a €60 million offer for his services. But, it is not good enough to convince the Rossoneri.
AC Milan are not ready to let go of their star and are ready to give him a new contract with an extended salary. However, even if the player does not pen down a new deal, they still won’t let him leave unless they receive a sizeable price tag.

AC Milan have already rejected the €60 million offer and have made it clear that they won’t consider anything below €100-110 million. As a result, it will be interesting to see if the Blues can meet that asking price.
