AC Milan have established contacts with Chelsea as they look to sign 24-year-old American winger Christian Pulisic.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, AC Milan are interested in having Christian Pulisic in their ranks ahead of next season. The 24-year-old winger’s future at Chelsea looks uncertain and is expected to be on the move in the upcoming window.

Pulisic came through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund at some pace and made quite a name for himself. He was one of the most sought-after youngsters in world football back in the day when the Blues acquired his services.

While it was a high-profile transfer, the results are not as good as one would have expected. The American international has made a total of 145 appearances for Chelsea and has been involved in just 47 goals.

Initially, he was an important part of their first-team squad. But of late, his game time has taken a hit. The Blues have signed quite a few players over the past two windows, and it has seen him fall further down the pecking order.

The 24-year-old has been on the pitch for just over 1,000 minutes in the 2022/23 season despite making a total of 30 appearances. And, he has only managed to contribute towards three goals.

With his contract running out in 2024, it seems to be the right time to cash in on him rather than letting him leave for free next season. On top of that, he is also a part of the list of players that Mauricio Pochettino is looking to offload in the summer to free up some space in his squad and manage finances.

Even Pulisic would prefer moving elsewhere and starting fresh as he looks to revive his career. Meanwhile, AC Milan have registered their interest in the 24-year-old. Milan are keen on strengthening their squad ahead of next season and they want to bolster their attack in particular.

The Italian giants like the profile of Pulisic and want to have him in their ranks. And, they have already held talks with his agents. They have also established contacts with Chelsea’s new American owner Todd Boehly as they look to land the €20 million-rated attacker on a priority basis.
