Tottenham Hotspur are well-placed to acquire the services of the 26-year-old Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.

According to SPORT via SportWitness, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of Franck Kessie. The 26-year-old midfielder’s future at Barcelona is uncertain and he could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.

Kessie joined Barcelona ahead of the 2022-23 season as a free agent after his contract with AC Milan ran out. While the Ivory Coast international has done a decent job, his future is uncertain and he could be on his way out.

The former Milan midfielder has featured in a total of 43 matches and has six goal contributions despite being on the pitch for just over 1,800 minutes.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are going through a financial crisis and they need to offload multiple players to balance their books and push for new signings.

And, Xavi is ready to let go of the 26-year-old who joined them just a year back. His departure could help them raise a significant sum.

While the player is not keen on leaving the club, he might not have any other option. The former Milan player is a part of their transfer list and if he is to leave the club, he prefers returning to Italy. However, the Italian clubs might not be able to meet the asking price of €35 million set by Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan did put forward two exchange offers, one including Joaquín Correa and the other including Denzel Dumfries. But, both the bids have been rejected by the Catalan giants who are only looking for cash only deal.

Tottenham are also interested in acquiring his services. The London club are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season and have already enquired Barcelona about what are the conditions needed to get him.

Spurs have the financial power to meet the asking price but the player might not be open to the idea of joining them. He wants to play European football and Tottenham have failed to qualify for any of the European competitions.

There are other English clubs who would love to have him in their ranks but reports suggest Tottenham are way ahead of others. While they are the best-placed club to land the 26-year-old, they will have somehow to convince him in order to make it happen.

He was good and a few years ago I would have been excited. Now am worried he could be another Ndombele and we haven’t solved that mistake yet!!!
We really need to focus on getting our over crowded, underperforming midfielders out first.
Let’s get a decent centre back or two in place, then address any additions to the midfield. With Bissouma and Bentancur we already have Hojbjerg and Skipp, Starr, Ndombele, LoCelso,, Winks, Harvey White, AlfieDevine etc.
New keeper and centre back first Ante!!!

Fore me its a case of first things first, Barca must be given that rubbish Lenglet back before anything else is discussed!
