The 18-year-old, a target for Arsenal, has a release clause in his contract, which has dropped following their relegation to the second division. The youngster is now available for a fee of around €20 million.

The Gunners used Ben White as their right-back this season. But they need to bring in a more specialist option. The former Brighton & Hove Albion defender is more suited to a central role. The reported €20 million fee is certainly affordable for a club with Arsenal’s resources. But it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can get the deal done in the coming weeks.
