James Maddison is keen on joining Arsenal ahead of next season amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

According to Paul Brown via GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal could win the race for the services of James Maddison. The 26-year-old is expected to part ways with Leicester City post their relegation from the English top flight. While there are quite a few clubs keen on having the England international in their ranks, Arsenal could end up winning the battle suggests Brown.

The Foxes might have failed to survive in the Premier League but Maddison surely did his bit. The 26-year-old gave it his all but couldn’t help the cause of the Foxes. The England international was involved in 30 league matches and had a total of 19 goal contributions.

He found the back of the net on 10 occasions and created other nine goals. Maddison has had a great season on a personal level and there could be a bidding war for his services in the summer.

With Foxes relegated, he is expected to part ways with the club and they might let him leave for a fee close to £40 million. Meanwhile, Tottenham and Newcastle are two of the clubs that have been monitoring his situation for a while now.

Spurs want to incorporate someone who can reignite their midfield and help their forwards. Maddison could be an ideal player for the London club and they do have the finances to make it happen.

However, Newcastle United have Champions League football to offer and they can surely match any deal that Spurs present. The Magpies will look to strengthen their squad to be competitive in the UCL and the Premier League. And, signing Maddison will surely make sense.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are one of the club that could push for his services when the window opens. The Gunners missed out on the league title by the smallest of margins and they will look to bolster their squad to once again push for the title.

Brown on Maddison to Arsenal: “He’d certainly be interested in going there. I think he’s an ambitious player and wherever he goes, he’s going to bring the same kind of qualities that he did for Leicester. But I think he could be a bigger player and have more of an impact if he goes somewhere else.”

With them back in the Champions League, they have the financial strength to acquire his services. And, the arrival of a player with his qualities will surely make them a more dangerous team.

Brown believes he is an ambitious player who will prefer joining Arsenal and he can become a bigger player and have more impact at Arsenal given the quality of their squad.

He would be a good buy for £40 million, but Arsenal are after strengthening their defensive areas first. What I can tell you is a Swap deal is on. Balogun is now valued at £60 million by both Napoli and PS G due to exceeding the 20 goal barrier. He will be used as a swap deal for with Rice or Caicedo. Arsenal will not pay more than £75 million for either of them. They will however do a player plus cash swap involving the 21 year old striker who has scored 21 goals. Balogun is now valued at £60 million by both PSG and Napoli including the addons. So maybe Balogun plus £15 million for Caicedo. Then wait until next year to get Rice for free as he only wants to play for Arsenal.
