Paris Saint-Germain are all set to acquire the services of the 27-year-old Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain are set to complete the signing of Marco Asensio. The 27-year-old forward’s time at Real Madrid is all set to end after an official announcement was made by the club. And, it seems Asensio’s next destination will be Paris.

The Spain international joined Real Madrid back in the summer of 2015. Los Blancos acquired his services from RCD Mallorca and immediately loaned him out to gain first-team experience. The 27-year-old started featuring for the first team in the 2016/17 season.

He went from strength to strength in the initial few years and scored some incredible goals. However, injuries became a major hurdle and he could cement himself as a regular starter. Despite not being a regular starter, the former Mallorca forward has done his bit for the team.

He has been involved in 20 goals in his 50 outings. The 27-year-old has found the back of the not on 12 occasions and has eight assists despite being on the pitch for less than 2,000 minutes. Asensio’s contract was set to expire after the end of the ongoing season. Real Madrid did try to extend the deal.

However, both parties couldn’t reach a common ground and decided to part ways. Real Madrid released an official statement on Saturday stating that Asensio will be leaving the club after the end of the season. Meanwhile, PSG have been monitoring the situation for a while now. They were keen on having the 27-year-old, and it seems they are very close to landing him at the club.

Luis Campos, the Football Advisor of PSG has been working on this deal for a while now. And, according to Romano, Asensio will put pen to paper on a four-year deal after his farewell to the Real Madrid fans next season.

With the French giants all set to lose out on Lionel Messi, acquiring the Spain international as a replacement could be great business done by the club. Asensio could surely help them push for the Champions League having won it thrice during his time in Madrid.
