Real Madrid are holding internal discussions over Roberto Firmino as the Brazilian emerges as a striker target for the Spanish giants.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Roberto Firmino emerges as a target for Real Madrid ahead of the summer. The 13-goal Liverpool star will become a free agent, with many teams angling for his signature.

Real Madrid has some important decisions on their hand ahead of the summer. Florentino Perez will reflect on the state of some positions in the squad and look to bring in reinforcements. OF those, the centre-forward position is a concern, as the club could look to phase Karim Benzema out or provide quality support slowly.

The Frenchman has endured fitness concerns throughout the season and, in games, has looked subdued. Most recently, he was nowhere at his best against Manchester City as Real Madrid was humbled in the Champions League semifinals.

They will look to bring a new striker and reportedly prioritise a move for Harry Kane. Signing the England captain from Tottenham will become a difficult and costly task, which could lead them to look at alternatives.

One of the names that have come up on their list is Roberto Firmino. The 13-goal Liverpool star is about to leave Anfield as a free agent upon the expiry of his contract and remains one of the attractive Bosman options in the market.

Fabrizio Romano suggests Madrid are internally discussing Firmino and could make a move if the conditions are right. He certainly has shown the level of his performances this season, despite the 13-goal Liverpool star not starting too many games this term.

While Madrid have remained interested from earlier, there are also links with Barcelona for the 13-goal Liverpool star. A host of other clubs are also keeping tabs on his situation, and surely, some might have already spoken to his agent when his future became apparent.

Recent stories indicated Firmino was open to joining Barcelona, but with Real Madrid now in the chase, he might ponder over offers. The 13-goal Liverpool star also has the interest of AC Milan in Italy, while Roma and Inter Milan were also mentioned in the media recently.

Firmino could add quality depth to the attacking line if they sign him at Madrid. He also knows Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes well from the national side and could become a solid deputy to Benzema.
