Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of 36-year-old Paris-Saint Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

According to a report by Foot Mercato via Get Football News France, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Keylor Navas ahead of next season. The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, and he has put in some impressive performances in the English top flight.

The 36-year-old shot-stopper wants to continue in England next season, and there are quite a few clubs interested in having him in their ranks. Navas established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world while playing for Real Madrid back in the day.

He won numerous titles with Los Blancos before joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019. The Costa Rican international guided the French team to the Champions League final. He was an important part of their first team until they acquired the services of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Post the arrival of the Italian international, Navas’s game time started to decline. He made only two first-team appearances for the French club before joining Nottingham Forest on loan in the winter window.

The Tricky Trees were struggling with injuries and the Cost Rian international was signed to help them survive in the English top flight. He has managed to live up to their expectations with two clean sheets in his 17 Premier League appearances.

While the 36-year-old might not have kept too many clean sheets, he has surely made some important saves for Nottingham since arriving at the club. His efforts have ensured that the Tricky Trees secure safety with two games to go.

Navas is all set to return to PSG after the end of the season. However, he is likely to part ways with the club in the summer. And, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are two possible destinations for the 36-year-old.

Spurs are looking to replace Hugo Lloris ahead of next season. The French goalkeeper is in the twilight of his career and has been on the decline of late. He has made quite a few errors and has also suffered from injury. As a result, Tottenham are keen on having a new shot-stopper, and they believe Navas could be a short-term fix.

Meanwhile, the Blues are not happy with their goalkeepers. Both Édouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga have been inconsistent and they want to bring in a new shot-stopper to sort the situation out. Chelsea believe Navas could help their cause.

While Chelsea and Tottenham are ready to square up against each other for the 36-year-old’s services, there are other contenders as well. As a result, it will be interesting it see where he ends up playing his football next season.
