Barcelona could offer around €30 million to secure the services of 18-year-old Brazilian striker Vitor Roque this summer.

According to Gerard Romero on Jijantes FC, Deco’s first challenge when he becomes Barcelona’s sporting director will be to sign Vitor Roque in the summer transfer window. And the Blaugrana might offer up to €30 million to secure the services of the 18-year-old striker. But €30 million will not be enough to sign the youngster amid competition from Premier League clubs.

Vitor Roque has taken no time to rise to stardom, with pundits and fans in his homeland classifying him as the next big thing. The Brazilian striker joined Athletico Paranaense from Cruzeiro just over 12 months ago. But he has become a pivotal figure for Furacao while making his international debut.

The 18-year-old has started the 2023 season strongly, directly contributing to 12 goals in 20 games. Roque has found the back of the net eight times while providing four assists. And the youngster’s progress has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona.

Barcelona signed Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich last summer. And while the Polish striker has been prolific this season, he is approaching the final phase of his glittering career. So it behoves Barcelona to lay down a succession plan for Lewandowski, despite only signing him less than a year ago.

Vitor Roque has thus emerged as a viable target for Barcelona. And the Catalan giants have already held discussions over a possible move in the summer transfer window. But the never-ending financial woes are complicating matters for the Blaugrana as they look to sign the 18-year-old striker.

Recent reports have thus claimed that the Catalan giants have outlined plans to sign the Brazilian international. Meanwhile, Deco is on the verge of taking charge as the new Barcelona sporting director. And his first task will be to secure a summer deal for Vitor Roque. Barcelona will thus look to offer around €30 million to sign the teenage sensation.

But €30 million might not get the job done, with several Premier League clubs also keen on signing him. However, with the youngster keen on joining Barcelona, the Catalan outfit might have the edge over Arsenal and Chelsea. It will be interesting to see if the Blaugrana can seal the deal for the 18-year-old this summer.
