Liverpool have reportedly agreed on a deal for Alexis Mac Allister, with a £70 million move mooted to conclude early.

According to TYC Sports, Liverpool have agreed on a deal with Brighton for Alexis Mac Allister. The 24-year-old World Cup winner is a top target for Jurgen Klopp, with the Reds boss keen to bolster his midfield and bring in players early.

The report insists Liverpool may pay around £70 million for Alexis Mac Allister as a transfer inches closer. They claim a deal has already been agreed upon between the Reds and Brighton, with the 24-year-old World Cup winner likely to become their first summer signing.

The season is almost over, and both clubs have different ambitions. If the stars align, Liverpool and Brighton could finish the season in the Europa League spot, although Jurgen Klopp’s men are still hunting for a top-four finish.

Having endured a difficult season, the club had visibly tailed off from their standards for the last four to five years. Their performance drop may have already cost them a place in next season’s Champions League, with the blame pinned on their midfielders.

Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and Thiago were underwhelming throughout the campaign, with the latter a constant absentee through injury troubles. They had already planned on revamping those positions using the summer window, but the road is difficult for the Merseysiders.

Klopp wants Mac Allister before the window opens, and Liverpool are ready to offer him a bumper contract to join them. The 24-year-old World Cup winner is reportedly open to joining the Merseysiders despite harbouring ambitions to play in the Champions League.

The report insists Liverpool has already agreed on a deal with Brighton and could pay around £70 million for the 24-year-old World Cup winner. If true, it could become a record sale for the Seagulls, who have excelled in player transfers in recent seasons.

Mac Allister could prove an astute purchase for the Reds, who could elevate their quality in the middle. Other clubs, like Chelsea, are keen on the 24-year-old World Cup winner, but the general suggestion points towards him joining Klopp’s side.

Liverpool may not stop with Mac Allister; they have other needs in the next window. A new centre-back and an additional midfielder could also arrive alongside a right-back option. The Merseysiders could open their chequebooks and embark on a spending spree to reach their premium levels.
